Ahead of the Sundance premiere of her film The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Bel Powley has signed on to indie Detour. Powley will play Cherry, a stripper/prostitute who lends a helping hand to Harper, a grieving law student played by Tye Sheridan. British filmmaker Christopher Smith (Get Santa) wrote and will direct the project. Powley, whose theater credits include the West End plays Jumpy and Raving, has wrapped work on a trio of interesting films, with the first, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, premiering at Sundance.
