Legendary late-night talk show host and comedian David Letterman will step down as Late Showhost on Wednesday, leaving a legacy of hilarious monologues, interviews and decades of striped ties.
During an interview in 2010, Late Show costume designer Susan Hum revealed to SFGate that Letterman prefers “bright ties with simple stripes.” Hum said “I shop a half a dozen stores or more . . . to find a Dave tie that is acceptable,” . We’ll miss you Dave, but we’re looking forward to Stephen Colbert’s tie collection.
