ABC Family is bringing Stitchers back for another season. The youth-skewing Disney-owned cable network has renewed the procedural for a second season ahead of its Aug. 4 summer finale. The drama, starring Emma Ishta, Kyle Harris and Salli Richardson-Whitfield, marks the cabler’s first procedural series and was a high priority for new network president Tom Ascheim. Stitchers, from writer Jeffrey A. Schechter centers on a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave.
