Amy Schumer recently revealed on Howard STern that she was asked to replace outgoing Daily Show host Jon Stewart but turned it down because the job felt too safe. “Like, this way, ‘I’m secure and I know I’ll make this and I know I’ll have this job,’ but I’m like, ‘No, I’m going to bet on myself that I can do more’ ” Amy stated. Although she revealed that she is a political person in her private life, she agrees with Stern that hosting the show would not have been good for her. “I was kind of fantasizing about like, ‘Oh, my brother and my whole family can work there and everyone will get paid well and we’ll have this little commune’…and I just pictured all the fittings, like all the blazers I would have to wear,” Amy said. “And I was like, ‘I don’t want to have to do that.'”
