Amy Schumer is coming to HBO on Saturday, October 17. The A-list comedian’s comedy special, previously announced, marks her first one-off with the premium cable channel. A first look of Schumer’s show was shown during HBO’s Thursday presentation at the Television Critics’ Association press tour and the clip garnered much laughter in the room of journalists and critics. Chris Rock will direct the special, which tapped this May at the Apollo Theater in New York. Schumer served as writer and will executive produce with Mike Berkowitz and Jimmy Miller. Schumer, who’s coming off of great box office success from her first major film role with “Trainwreck,” in which she starred and wrote, headlines her own series “Inside Amy Schumer,” which was renewed for a fourth season on Comedy Central.
