The Sherlock star will next appear in Ken Loach’s Irish drama Jimmy’s Hall and gay rights movie Pride, which both premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. He has also wrapped filming on Frankenstein, in which he plays Inspector Roderick Turpin alongside James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe. The 37-year-old is also starring in Simon Stephens’ production of Birdland at the Royal Court theatre in London, which runs until May 31.
