Betsy Palmer, the character actress best known for her role as Mrs. Voorhees, the “killer cook” and mother of the murderous Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, died on Friday. Palmer’s career spanned more than 60 years, dating back to film and TV roles in the 1950s. She appeared in TV shows such as The Love Boat, Knots Landing and Murder, She Wrote, among many others.
