Bill Murray is not ready for David Letterman’s Late Show departure.
Murray and Letterman have had a longstanding friendship, as the comedian’s been a featured guest on the Late Show many times over the years. Murray was even Letterman’s first guest on Late Night when the host took over the show in 1982.
So unable to stand by and watch his friend retire after 33 years, Murray ventured into the streets of New York City to rally for a change of heart. Cue crowds of people singing “Give Peace a Chance” and hugging, all led by a cake-covered Murray.
Passersby even snagged photos of the comedian during the taping on Tuesday as a preview of that night’s Late Show antics.
