Paramount’s Transformers Age of Extinction did massive business at the global box office, scoring the top opening of the year with $100 million domestically and $201.3 million overseas from 37 markets for a total $301.2 million. The fourth installment in the action franchise was especially huge in Asia, including a best-ever, $90 million debut in China. Still, that didn’t stop new Chinese romantic comedy The Break Up Guru from opening to a stellar $20.5 million.
