The show saw Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith collect two awards each, Kanye West mocked mercilessly by the hosts and Madonna suffer a major stage malfunction , tumbling over during her closing performance. According to figures released by ITV, the 5.8 million gave the major music awards show a 26 percent share of the U.K. TV audience at the time.
