Buzz Osborne of the Melvins has come under fire lately for a scathing review of Brett Morgen’s recent documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.
What has him most baffled is the acceptance fans have shown a film they believe is an authentic portrayal of Cobain during that time simply because of its family association.
As he wrote in the review for The Talkhouse, Osborne still claims the majority of the film’s content and facts are suspect.
In a new interview with Riff You Osborne said, “facts don’t make any difference. What matters is what people believe.”
He added, “the ‘truth’ about [Cobain’s] situation has always been false.”
The Melvins front man does have a position of authority of speak about his fallen friend and musical contemporary.
After all, he introduced Dave Grohl to Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic.
