Channing Tatum is the voice of Joaquin, a macho military hero, in the animated film, The Book of Life, and he reveals why he was perfect for the part.
According to the film’s producer Guillermo del Toro, the Magic Mike XXL star had “the swagger and the charm” to play the part of moustache-wearing Joaquin.
The animated film comes off as a Tim Burton film, with an infusion of Mexican culture.
The story follows Manolo – voiced by Diego Luna – a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart, who embarks on an adventure that spans three fantastic worlds where he must face his greatest fears.
