The Chechen Republic’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, made the headlines in Russia by announcing that he will be playing the main character in an action film in a move very atypical of a regional Russian leader.
The project was announced on the official website of the Chechen government and on Kadyrov’s Instagram account, where he published a short clip from the movie, featuring him running across a desert landscape with a machine gun, followed by several sports utility vehicles.
