He was pretty much favourite from the outset and after weeks of speculation, Chris Evans has been announced as the new host of Top Gear. The 49-year-old is stepping into the shoes of long-time host Jeremy Clarkson, who was sacked from the BBC motoring show after punching one of the producers in a fracas last earlier this year.
