On the same day that China’s Alibaba revealed it was making its first Hollywood investment in the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Paramount used it presentation at the CineEurope trade show to build up exhibitor excitement levels for the spy actioner, due out July 31.
Tom Cruise gave a video message to the assembled audience, describing the latest Mission: Impossible installation as a “wild ride” and the “best mission yet,” before unveiling extended footage, including the scene in which he ends up clinging from the side of a plane. He added,”You’ve got to see it to believe it.”
Paramount’s co-president international marketing and distribution Mark Viane pointed out that Cruise himself “stuck himself to the plane and clung on.”
