With music, laughs and gratitude, a room full of stars paid tribute to Steve Martin as he received the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award. Mel Brooks presented Martin with the award Thursday night at a private ceremony at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater. Friends and former co-stars Diane Keaton, Martin Short and Queen Latifah also sang for the guest of honor. Sarah Silverman, Dan Aykroyd, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Lily Tomlin and Carl Reiner were among those who appeared at the celebration, set to be broadcast June 13 as a special on TBS.
