Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan exclusively revealed to me last night that she considered the former Dawson’s Creek teen queen for the starring role of Piper. Yes, Kohan talked to Holmes about playing Piper! But as we know, the part eventually went to the now Emmy-nominated Taylor Schilling. Kohan said of Holmes, “She had other things to do. And also in the beginning, no one knew what this was.” Funny enough, over the weekend while she was promoting her new movie The Giver, Holmes said that OITNB is one of her favorite shows.
