Fifty Shades of Grey hasn’t even hit theaters yet — the U.S. release date is Feb. 13 — but two sequels, based on the other two books in the trilogy, have already been announced. MTV reports, the film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson said so herself at a fan event at New York’s Seigfeld Theatre Friday. Even though Universal, the studio behind the movie, hasn’t officially confirmed it, Taylor-Johnson’s enthusiasm is easy to understand; the movie tickets have been selling like crazy , practically guaranteeing a strong opening.
