The first screening of Peter Capaldi in Doctor Who was held in New York City’s Bryant Park Hotel last week. It’s the first full episode that stars Capaldi as the Doctor. Capaldi isn’t new to acting or even to Doctor Who (he played Caecilius in the third season episode “The Fires of Pompeii”), but he is new to being the centerpiece of a worldwide phenomenon. When “Deep Breath” is broadcast in the U.S. on Saturday, it’ll set the tone for how his Doctor is perceived.
