The new cast, crew and hosts of The View, including Rosie O’Donnell Rosie Perez, Nicolle Wallace and Whoopi Goldberg, who is the only returning host from the previous season—are presumably celebrating the success of Monday’s season 18 premiere, which marks the second-highest premiere on record since the show’s inception in 1997.
The episode also marked O’Donnell’s highly-anticipated return to the show after exiting the program in 2007 following her infamous feud with Elizabeth Hasselbeck, which led to the comic’s premature exit from the series
Hasselbeck told Parade magazine, referring to the pair’s on-air fight, “I reached out to Rosie for many years, including the day after everything happened. That’s something I’ve talked about time and again. I was not met with a response, but I wish them well.”
As for her response when asked why the producers brought Rosie back? She said, “I have no clue.”
