Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke appeared on The Graham Norton Show to discuss how she felt about the show’s controversial scenes in Season 5.
Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, talked about shooting a “rape scene” with Jason Momoa, and how he managed to bring some levity to the situation.
She explained, “he decided to, for one of the scenes — which was on his back and my face — he decided to not use a modesty sock, but use a beautiful pink, fluffy sock.”
Clarke added, “so getting that closeup from me, looking petrified and just like I didn’t want it to happen was just lots of laughter.”
When you work on a show that racks up body counts of nearly 1,500 in one season alone, it’s probably necessary to lighten the mood a little bit.
