As Eminem’s protégée Yelawolf readies the release of his second studio album, Love Story, for April 21st.
The pair have joined forces on the dark, Johnny Cash-inspired “Best Friend.”
The single is the latest Love Story preview to showcase the Alabama rapper’s return to his southern roots; he tests out a Kid Rock-tinged combination of singing and rapping.
Eminem, who recently annotated many of his lyrics for Genius, is unhinged during his stellar verse that effortlessly rises in intensity.
Love Story is Yelawolf’s first full-length album since his 2011 debut Radioactive.
Both have been released via Eminem’s Shady Records, and Eminem acts as executive producer on the LP alongside Yelawolf.
