During a press event for her most recent film, Emma Stone, who played Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man film franchise, said she would have interest in reprising the role for a Spider-Gwen movie. In an alternate Marvel universe, it is Gwen Stacy, not Peter Parker, who is bitten by a radioactive spider. Peter actually becomes a Lizard-like villain in that universe. Of course, Sony is rebooting Spidey for the MCU, but because Spider-Gwen exists in an alternate universe it wouldn’t interfere with Marvel’s cinematic universe.
