Emily Trainham of Fishwrapper writes, “It seems like Lana Del Rey has based her whole entire career on being obnoxious and unlikable — remember that time that she said that she didn’t want anyone to listen to her music in an interview with Rolling Stone to promote her new album? — but guys, that’s all wrong. That’s not the way it is at all. See, it turns out that we’re just not deep enough to intuit what Lana’s doing. We can try and try all we want, but it’s just not going to happen because we’re too dumb. That might sting a little, but it’s the truth. According to Lana: “Sometimes when the things you say and the way you look don’t add up- people are quick to label you as an impersonator or feel like you’re not entitled to the life experiences you’ve really lived. They’re not deep enough to intuit.” Now, wouldn’t that be the most perfect thing you’ve ever read in your entire life, if only your poor, feeble mind could comprehend it?
