NBC has decided not to dine on a fourth season of Bryan Fuller’s creepy thriller Hannibal.
Since the news hit the internet, fans of the show have flocked to social media decrying the decision.
Some users, though jokingly, expressed a wish to eat the person responsible, like their cherished cannibalistic psychiatrist and culinarian.
The network announced the cancellation Monday, praising the show for bringing “a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable.”
Based upon the character Hannibal Lecter from the novel Red Dragon, the show will seek a seat at the table of another network or streaming service.
In a statement, Fuller praised NBC for its willingness to take a chance on the show.
NBC will continue to air episodes of Hannibal on Thursdays at 10 p.m. until the end of its run.
