Faye Dunaway finally is ready to talk about Mommie Dearest — though she may be a little fuzzy on the details. The actress, who’s penning a book on the making of the 1981 Joan Crawford biopic, recently was spotted in Larry Edmunds Bookshop on Hollywood Boulevard buying a copy of the film’s screenplay and the Christina Crawford memoir that inspired it.
As she browsed, she was followed around the store by an aggressive paparazzo. “It was very uncomfortable,” says one witness. To paraphrase a line from the camp-classic film: Why can’t she be given the respect that she’s entitled to? Dunaway’s rep had no comment.
