Sofia Coppola will no longer direct Universal and Working Titles’ The Little Mermaid movie due to creative differences.
Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing the project.
Caroline Thompson wrote the script for the live-action adaptation.
Sources say casting was underway for the film, with Coppola meeting with Bevan and Fellner recently in London.
The studio is still keen to move forward with the project and keep it on track.
