It’s been a long, strange journey for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, his planned western follow-up to Django Unchained. Originally announced as a canceled project due to a script leak, the live performance of that script apparently resurrected it as a movie. Now Tarantino has offered another sign that it will actually happen: the first poster for the project.
The poster, which recalls classic posters from days of yore with a simple, iconic design in red, black and white showing a horse and carriage leaving a trail of blood behind it with the tagline “The 8th Film from Quentin Tarantino,” the movie’s title — emphasizing the “Hateful” — and a “Super Cinemascope” logo, will debut in the next issue of British movie magazine Empire.
Missing from the poster is any release date, beyond the vague “2015,” nor mention of the cast Tarantino has reportedly assembled for the project, with Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins and Samuel L. Jackson all having been named as involved.
