In his first release since Morning Phase won Album of The Year honors at this year’s GRAMMY Awards (where he was famously interrupted by Kanye West), Beck returns to unveil his latest single and the first taste of his forthcoming album. In a recent interview with Los Angeles based radio station Alt 98.7, Beck described the new LP as a “hybrid” of garage rock and dance that will be a far cry from the leisure folk charm of his previous album. True to his word, “Dreams” arrives like a triumphant tour de force championing slippery riffs and near-psychedelic dance grooves that trips down a path where Beck meets The Flaming Lips into a place of instantaneous gratification.
