The 72nd Annual Golden Globes were high with emotion on Sunday night. Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez wore her feelings on her sleeve after receiving the award for best actress in a TV series, musical or comedy for her first season on the show. Holding back tears, the Latina actress said, “This award is so much more than myself. It represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes.” The CW also went home happy, as Rodriguez’s win is the network’s first-ever Globe after earning its first nom this year. House of Cards’ Kevin Spacey did not hold back on filtering his elated speech for winning best performance by an actor in a TV series, drama. After eight Golden Globe nominations, Spacey was awarded his first win – and he wanted everyone to know how he felt about it.
