According to a new report, the classic comedy Groundhog Day is heading to Broadway in the spring of 2017. Starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell, the 1993 film follows an exasperated weatherman as he is forced to relive Feb. 2 until he corrects his actions. Groundhog Day will get its musical adaptation courtesy of the creators of Broadway’s Matilda, including director Matthew Warchus and composer Tim Minchin. Groundhog Day the musical will open on March 9, 2017, with previews beginning Jan. 23, 2017.
