Guitar Hero Live is back this fall after an extended hiatus following the collapse of the plastic instrument rhythm game craze in 2010. Live reimagines how the game’s fake guitar works, eliminating the multicolored buttons in favor of three black and three white ones, positioned side by side on the guitar neck. Last week, it was Pantera, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down and Judas Priest, among others. This week, those masters of metal are joined by familiar cuts by Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, Deftones and Mastodon. This shouldn’t come as any surprise given Guitar Hero Live’s attempt to reinvent the series, but guitar-heavy metal and rock dominate the track listing that’s been shared so far.
