Original “Mad Max” star Mel Gibson turned out to support his replacement Tom Hardy at the premiere of the new film in the action series in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
In “Mad Max: Fury Road,” Hardy takes on the titular character made famous by Gibson in three films, and the original Max turned out to support him at the new movie’s unveiling in L.A.
Gibson walked the red carpet and posed for pictures with British actor Hardy, as well as George Miller, the director who helmed the first three “Mad Max” films as well as the new blockbuster.
“Mad Max: Fury Road” is set to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival in France next week ahead of its release.
