Chris Hemsworth meets his match against a giant sperm whale in the new trailer for Ron Howard’s In the Heart of the Sea.
Billed as “one of the greatest true stories ever told,” the ocean adventure focuses on the aftermath of of the maritime disaster in 1820 that inspired the book Moby Dick. Howard focuses on the survival of Owen (played by Hemsworth) and his crew after a monster sperm whale rips through the New England whaling ship Essex.
The film is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex.
Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Tom Holland and Ben Whishaw also co-star in the film.
In the Heart of the Sea hits theaters on March 13, 2015.
