The work of legendary film composer James Horner, who on Tuesday was confirmed dead in a plane crash, was as vast as it was diverse.
Name one of your favorite blockbusters and the 61-year-old composer was likely the maestro behind its film score: Titanic, Avatar, Braveheart, Field of Dreams, Karate Kid, Aliens, The Land Before Time, Jumanji, The Perfect Storm, Bicentennial Man, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13 and The Amazing Spider-Man, among dozens of others.
Horner’s work was often nominated for major awards but his first Academy Award and Golden Globe wins came in 1997 for his work on Titanic, as well as Best Song for “My Heart Will Go On.”
