Jillian Michaels went under the knife at a young age, but it’s a decision she never regrets.
The fitness teacher had nose surgery when she was 16 years old and credits it as a life changing event. She told People Magazine that the surgery helped her build confidence. Although Michaels says people shouldn’t let their looks define them, she says some things really do make you insecure and can be fixed. She added, “I think it’s about [doing it for] the right reasons.”
In the 2010 issue of Parade’s Healthy Style, the 41-year-old openly talked about her struggles with self-esteem as a teen. In eighth grade, she said she weighed 175 pounds and had a nose quote unquote the size of a softball. Other kids taunted her about the size of her nose at school. Eventuall, Her mom had to put her through another school. In sum, she says, “It was pure hell”.
