On Wednesday, 37-year-old singer John Mayer guest hosted CBS’ Late Late Show, and the famed dancing sharks from Katy’s Super Bowl XLIX halftime show were his first guests.
The sharks—which were “actually a huge get for me,” John gushed—were joined by a marine biologist named Carl. Carl quickly explained to John that the sharks “can’t talk—they’re not dolphins,” adding, “[but] of course they dance—they’re Super Bowl sharks!” Although John noted multiple times that “both sharks did a fine job” performing with Katy, neither left shark nor right shark wanted to dance with him. “I’m sorry to disappoint everyone here tonight,” the marine biologist explained, “but these sharks don’t dance for anything less than $100,000.”
