Sitting beside Mortdechai co-star Paul Bettany, the notoriously private 51-year-old actor discussed fiancée Amber Heard, 28, in an interview with E! News. He complimented the actress on a recent appearance and was then asked if they had celebrated a year of being engaged.
Depp played coy and turned to his co-star for a response, who appeared bemused but played along.
He also played coy about their engagement in an interview with the Today show, before confirming it again, and joked about his “chick’s ring” in a red carpet interview with E! News.
