So, Avengers: Age of Ultron is all about a team of superheroes beating up an evil robot, right? Well, maybe not — according to writer and director Joss Whedon, there’s much more moral ambiguity in the movie than that. While discussing the much-anticipated sequel with Fandango, Whedon said, “Strong but damaged by power’ describes every person in this movie. It may, in fact, describe what the movie is about. You know, the more power that we have, the less human we are.” Along similar lines, Whedon cited Mary Shelley’s classic as a touchstone, saying, “In the Marvel universe, there’s a lot of Frankensteins.”
