Jurassic World, Universal Studios’ long-anticipated Jurassic Park follow-up, stomped out an impressive $18.5 million for its Thursday night box office returns. Screenings, which began at 7:00 p.m. last night, were spread across 3,229 theaters. Surprisingly, these numbers beat Universal Pictures’ other darling film of 2015, Furious 7, which only made $15.8 million on its Thursday opening night.
Before the Colin Trevorrow film closes its opening weekend, it is expected to earns $125 million state-side and $200 million internationally.
