The Avengers just got stomped at the domestic box office. According to final numbers released Monday, a little over three years after Marvel’s superhero team-up hit a $207.4 million U.S. opening weekend for a box office record that looked like it could stand for epochs, Jurassic World swooped in and nipped it with $208.8 million. Sunday estimates had Jurassic World coming in at $204.6 million, but that number often flexes up or down after the final tally. In this case, it came up just enough to stand as the biggest U.S. opening of all time.
