Justin Guarini is back. The first ever runner-up from the 2002 debut season of American Idol — he lost to Kelly Clarkson — has reprised his role as Lil’ Sweet in an odd series of Dr. Pepper commercials. In the new ad, Guarini, nearly unrecognizable in his long purple wig, plays an undersized singer named Lil’ Sweet who can defy gravity and hear when you cry on the inside. The first Lil’ Sweet commercial debuted in February.
