Katy Perry and Kendrick Lamar are reportedly facing separate copyright lawsuits due to certain samples they’ve used on their recent releases. According to The Hollywood Reporter , Katy is being sued by gospel singer Flame , who claims that his song “Joyful Noise” was allegedly illegally sampled in the making of Perry’s “Dark Horse.” The plaintiff in this particular case is listed as Woolfsongs Limited, which is a company based out of the UK that handles the works of the platinum selling group, The Alan Parsons Project . The lawsuit claims that Kendrick used a sample of the song “Old and Wise” without proper consent.
