“Roar” singer Katy Perry somehow found time before the North American leg of her Prismatic World Tour kicks off this week to launch a new record label. Perry unveiled Metamorphosis Music, her joint record label with Capitol Records, on Tuesday.
Musician Ferras, who Perry has known since 2007 when both were newly signed artists on Capitol, is the first person to release music through the new label; Ferras’ self-titled EP debuted simultaneously with the Metamorphosis Music announcement.
A pink-clad Perry and piano-playing Ferras previously performed a duet of his song “Rush” at South by Southwest in 2008.
