Kendrick Lamar made a surprise appearance at Adrian Younge and Bilal’s joint gig at Los Angeles’ Regent Theatre Friday night, with the trio debuting a new track titled “Money Over Love.” The surprise Regent Theatre visit continues what’s been a busy few weeks for Lamar in his native Los Angeles since dropping his acclaimed To Pimp a Butterfly.
Hall III said “In less than 10 years as a professional artist, Mr. Lamar has gone from a local Compton young boy to become a multiplatinum, Billboard chart–topping, two-time Grammy Award–winning musician, an incredible achievement for anyone 27 years old,”
To Pimp a Butterfly is Lamar’s third LP, riding the momentum from his last album “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City”–this just looks like the beginning for Hip Hop’s newest super-star.
