Marvel’s Kevin Feige wants fans to know that the next generation of Spider-Man movies will be different than anything fans have seen before on the big screen.
Citing influences from teen movie king John Hughes, Feige says that the Jon Watts-directed Spider-Man due in theaters in 2017 will feature all-new villains. The villains will be drawn from the hero’s huge rogues gallery, rather than reverting back to the handful who have already appeared. That’s most likely an indication that Green Goblin, who has played a role in four of the five Spider-Man films produced by Sony, won’t be a major player.
