Sometimes shows hit a slump and come out of it, but other times there are forces that are out of their hands. One such case was Glee, in which Cory Monteith’s death made it hard for the show to turnaround. Kevin McHale, who played wheelchair-bound Artie on the hit show, appeared on The HuffPost Show and confessed that he felt the musical series wasn’t able to come back after Monteith passed away. “When Cory Monteith died, I don’t think the show ever came back from that,” he said. “It wasn’t for a lack of trying…I think after that the vibe onset is different. It was just weird for us being there never mind actually filming. Being one of the writers in that sort of situation I wouldn’t know what I would’ve done because I was like ‘I don’t even really want to be here.'”
