Kristin Scott Thomas has been named an officer of the Legion d’Honneur as part of France’s traditional Bastille Day honors. It’s a promotion for the British actress who had been named a knight in France a decade ago in the country where she has lived for over three decades. She has also been named a dame in her native U.K. this past March in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace and was previously awarded the country’s OBE in 2003.
Scott Thomas became famous Stateside starring opposite Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral and went on to receive Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for The English Patient.
