Alchemy closed a deal for North American rights to Gaspar Noé ’s Love . The sex-fueled film that is far steamier than Fifty Shades of Grey was a late addition to the Cannes Midnight screening section. Other distributors are still in the mix to acquire rights for the film. The sure-to-be controversial film centers on the erotic relationship between a boy and two girls. The upstart distributor has been on a buying spree at festivals of late, snapping up such films as the Nicole Kidman thriller Strangerland as well as Zipper , about a sex-addicted prosecutor, at Sundance. CAA and Wild Bunch brokered the deal.
