Mac Cosmetics is honoring the ultimate Tejano music icon in the way they do best. The brand took to Instagram today to announce a limited edition makeup collection that pays tribute to none other than the late Selena Quintanilla. The makeup brand wrote alongside the announcement, “Like the legend herself, Selena Quintanilla’s fans are an inspiration to us all for their love and enthusiasm. It’s happening! We are excited to announce the MAC Selena Quintanilla collection, available in 2016.” Selena is an obvious choice for a Mac match, considering the singer was both edgy and elegant. However, the reasoning behind the exclusive collection may stem from another source of inspiration entirely, which turned out to be a Change.org petition.
